Additional The Lucky One Information

Is there really such thing as a lucky charm? The hero of Nicholas Sparks's new novel believes he's found one in the form of a photograph of a smiling woman he's never met, but who he comes to believe holds the key to his destiny. The chain of events that leads to him possessing the photograph and finding the woman pictured in it is the stuff of love stories only a master such as Sparks can write.

What Customers Say About The Lucky One:

Lost this book on the plane and was happy to find it again at such a reasonable price and in such good condition. Thanks

It is SO easy to be in the book. Just when you think Nicholas Sparks cannot possibly top a previous book, Lucky Star did it. I couldn't put this one down. He is so vivid, so descriptive. You feel like YOU are the characters. Great story. Thank you Nicholas, keep the great work coming.I am waiting.

Marine, serving his time in the sandbox. That trek takes him from Colorado to Hampton, North Carolina where he decides to settle in for a while. I was expecting sappy love (which I will deal with in order to enjoy his characters) but that was BARELY there. But this story was different.

If you really believe in something, then you should go all out for it. And fate is not clear and defined. Let's face it, the man has found a pattern that works for him. Danger surrounded him constantly and he came close to death on more than one occasion. He meets the kinetic Nana, who runs a dog training facility with her daughter Elizabeth and grandson Ben, and chooses it as a place of employment.Overtime, as Logan becomes comfortable with this close-knit family, he begins to question his real reason for staying.

What this book is really trying to get across to its readers is faith and fate are quite important. Truly a story about faith (believing in something, anything) and understanding.Logan Thibault was just like any other U.S. That is until he found the picture. I found this book's characters very likable and I found myself actually caring what happened to them.

Nicholas Sparks is known for his love stories. Is it the search for the elusive girl or something more. The discovery he makes not only changes his path, but also the path of those around him.As always, Sparks weaves a simple storyline into a more complex analogy. Shallow attempts at going for something really means nothing. Everybody jokes about it until it seems to be the only reason Logan hasn't died during his 3rd tour in Iraq. Finally, after losing his best friend, Logan decides it's time to leave. Logan's background in the Marines is a different starting point than Sparks normally takes and I thought it was very appropriate for this time period and specific character. To me, this has to be one of his best books yet.

All in all, this was a great story that didn't take me too long to read. A beautiful young woman at some kind of fair. He gets processed out and sets out, on foot, to find the woman in the picture. It is a modifiable path that we can chose to take. Give it a try if you haven't read anything by him.

I enjoyed the twisted relationships between the characters, both living and dead. I did it. Even more amazing, I actually liked it. I guess because my expectations were VERY low, it seemed fantastic. Upon returning to the states, with nothing more than the information in the photo, he decides to find her.Setting: Iraqi Invasion, Hampton, North Carolina. I'm not a romance/love story type person.

He decides to keep the photograph and it seems to bring him luck. I read a Nicolas Sparks book. I was plesantly surprised and glad I picked up this book. This one is worth a read, and I will definately read another of his books.~JennTopic: A young marine finds a photograph of a woman on the beach while on a tour of duty in Iraq. I have to say, watching The Notebook as a movie, totally turned me off of the books. Too sappy, too sweet. This book was a bit sappy and sweet, but I have to say I found the characters had a lot of depth to them. He survives where he shouldn't on several occasions.

1990'sCharacters: Elizabeth Green, Ben Clayton, Keith Clayton, Logan Thibault, Victor, Nana (Green)., Drake GreenThemes: War, split families, romance, love story, death, some light sexual content (not graphic)

And Logan is on a walk. And coming off of reading some great stuff by the master of trash talk and heart throb, I was looking for another great read. Thibault soon becomes a part of Elizabeth's life, and takes a liking to her son, Ben, despite losing in chess to him most of the time. I only got ok, but it wasn't too bad either. We begin by joining a creepy Deputy, and his name is Keith Clayton.

When all was said and done, (yep, right before the Epilogue) I thought it all came to a sloppy crash-landing. And before questioning some nude skinny-dipping women, he takes a few pictures to satisfy his lust. But then we meet another man named Logan Thibault, and his German Shepherd, Zeus. Reading Sparks can be a treat, or for some odd reason, you find crap in the clues, making it simply ok. I say if you can seperate the crap from some of the shady clues, then you'll enjoy this completely. And when he finds her, he takes a job with her in her and Nana's dog kennel.

The big problem is Ben's dad, Keith Clayton. And he's out for blood as to why Thibault made his way here, and why is Elizabeth so interested in this man.

And if that ends up being the case for other readers, LUCKY THEM. But this time I didn't get that.

And a maze of mixed emotions is the end result for the most part, with a rather forced ending. Quite a long walk, from several states, with a picture in his pocket.

We learn that Thibault is a former Marine, and he's here to find a lady named Elizabeth. I've seen better from Sparks, but I've also seen worse from much better authors.

I still can't wait for other great reads that Sparks has to offer.
